Craig Hennecke Counseling
My Approach
I treasure a core belief that human beings are inherently wise, compassionate, and whole. Then life happens and people begin to lose access to their inner resourcefulness. My work is rooted in connection, authenticity, and empathy. I believe change and healing occur both experientially and relationally. By using compassion, honesty, and humor, I collaborate with clients to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment for self-exploration and growth. My approach to therapy is informed by mindfulness (Hakomi), somatic awareness, and internal parts work. I'm also a trained EMDR practitioner. Together, we'll explore past hurts and current struggles while accessing wisdom to navigate the path ahead. Whatever you may be dealing with, our work will aim to develop an embodied self that holds both your strengths and vulnerabilities.
I invite you to email me to schedule a free 20-minute consultation call to see if we're a good fit to begin working together.
About Me
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Beyond these acronyms, I'm currently under the supervision of Julie Kavanaugh. I hold a Master’s degree in counseling from Portland State University, with a focus on working with individuals, relationships, and families. I completed a one-year internship and training with the M.E.T.A. Clinic of the Hakomi Institute of Oregon.
When I'm not in session, I spend time in play and with my kiddo making music, creating, and pouncing around riverbanks.
